Re: [tuner23] Re: AIr Temp Sensor?

Got another question. How will the car run if it is
in limp mode, I heard their is a mode that ignores
most of the sensors and locks the timing. Then runs
off a different fuel map. This 93 turbo stang is just
running too damn good to be in limp mode IMHO. It
will blow the tires off at will through second and
third gear at only 14-15 lbs boost. Dont think it
would do this in limp mode. --- ICDP4TURBO <mpe-7@worldnet.att.net> wrote:
Yes the ACT sensor is the last chance for the EEC to
make air/fuel mixture
adjustments as the aircharge temperature changes. I
still don't buy the idea
that it pulls timing retard but what the heck it
works for me.

I would think that the VAT takes care of any inputs
that would affect
adjustment from idle to WOT as long as the ACT
sensor does not turn in a
different reading from the VAT.

Like Randy said ECT,VAT, ACT inputs are used by the
EEC to do changes, yet
the ECT input is the main timing modifier from my
point of view.

I think everyone is missing the point here. If the
ACT pulls timing at
high
charge temps, that is to prevent detonation, at
the time when it most
likely
to happen. This undoubtedly allows more timing
everywhere else, only
dialing
in a minimal retard when most needed. This leaves
more lead during light
throttle cruise, cool ambient air conditions, or
when the motor is cold,
to
  name a few.
