I think everyone is missing the point here. If the ACT pulls timing at high
charge temps, that is to prevent detonation, at the time when it most likely
to happen. This undoubtedly allows more timing everywhere else, only dialing
in a minimal retard when most needed. This leaves more lead during light
throttle cruise, cool ambient air conditions, or when the motor is cold, to
name a few.

My experience on both of my cars Pinto and TC with the same computer LA3
is
different since I do not experience any retard at maximum boost (around
20psi).

I can't speak of other peoples setup in the past but mine are working fine
and I am not about to change anything on them just because some one had a
bad experience or the code says so.

  After taking a quick look at the disassembly, the
  table at 0x2C56 seems to be the one that adjusts
  timing according to intake air temp.

I think Probst has it wrong this time.
